Francisca is a Portuguese multimedia artist based in Lisbon and has been exploring deviations in perception through the use of color, repetition, layering and the distortion of space. In this search for an invisible perception, photography has been the main medium, intertwined with video, performance and sound.
Graduated in Biological Engineering, studied Photography at ETIC Lisbon and GrisArt Barcelona and completed the MA in Multimedia Art at Fbaul in Lisbon. Francisca was cofounder of the photographic collective Cuatro15 and participated in festivals, solo and group exhibitions in Spain, Portugal, United States, Sweden and Switzerland. Francisca was a resident artist of the BONFIRE online residency and the Kloster Dornach residency in Switzerland. Exhibited at the galleries Zaratan Arte Contemporânea, Duplex in Lisbon and more recently was part of the TWINGI 25, land art festival at the Binntal Landscape Park in Switzerland.
Since 2023, Francisca is developing an ongoing project called Walking Mountains. The research has taken her in international fieldwork explorations, so far in the mountains of Portugal and Switzerland, following the threads of the invisible that inhabits the landscape.
